Our Services Water Baptism

About Water Baptism

This is a special ceremony to show you have accepted Jesus in your heart and have confessed Him as your Lord and Savior. You are submerged into water for a very brief moment, symbolizing the inward conversion that has taken place within us and identifying with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Who can be baptized?

Anyone who has already asked Jesus into their heart. We encourage parents to have their children wait until they are at least 7 years old before participating.

Why do we water baptize?

Jesus was baptized in water, and as Christians, we follow His example. (Matthew 3:1-17)

Jesus said that we should be baptized: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit..." (Matthew 28:19 NIV)

What is the procedure?

  • Please be modest and wear dark shorts and a dark shirt
  • One of your pastors will be beside the baptistery (tub filled with water) and you will walk up the steps into the baptistery.
  • The pastor will ask you if you have asked Jesus into your heart, or he may ask if you have made Jesus Lord of your life.
  • The pastor will gently lay you back in the water and say, "I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit," and then lift you up.
  • You will then step out, take your towel to dry off, and proceed to the dressing room to change clothes.
  • You will receive a special keepsake certificate by mail to serve as a reminder of the ceremony
